Why did you want a new garden room?

I had my own hair salon in the dining room side of my kitchen since 2020, and despite the numerouse lockdowns causing me to close, I actually made a successful little business when it was open as the face it was one-in-one-out a[[ealed to my customers. We planned to move house so we would have more space (my husband also works from home) but we realised we could create the extra space we needed my adding an outdoor garden room, it was the perfect way to create a better, more professional environment to work in and provide seperation between my family home and work.

How has it changed things for the way you live or work?

It has changed both. Moving the business outside lets me relax more when I am home not working as it is not constantly in my face, and we have gained a whole new room in our home. Although it is seperate from the house, as I am still arounf I can keep an eye on my kids (7&9( yet they don't disturb my clients. It also means my family can use the kitchen again when i'm working!

My customers have been blown away with how amazing and professional my 'boutique' (as described by a customer today) my new salon looks. My business is now growing organically from word of mouth since I started sharing photos on my business Facebook page. People look forward to visiting my garden beauty salon and love to recommend me to friends.

Why did you choose a Fora Garden Room?
I've been a memeber of the Facebook group Beautiful Sheds for quite sometime, watching and learning in the background whilst waiting for the day I would be able to get my own. I noticed quite a few of the ladies on there had used Fora and were often recommended, especially if you had an awkward shaped garden as they can make it to the size you want (and carry it through the house). Once I saw the Model 01 style I wanted I knew it was the one for me! 

And what did you think to the process?
The team contacted my straight away after I used the design tool and helped me with all my questions (even when via whatsapp on a weekend!) The 3D designs they produced were brilliant and helped us decided which orientation we wanted to go with within our awkward garden.

Jamie also helped me during a stressfull process during my HMRC loan application, waiting patiently for when the loan was approved, and even spoke to the MD to honour our original price even though many months had passed and they had to put the prices up due to increasing timber prices. Once I had my loan approved they got me an installation date within weeks which aligned with the 12th April re-opening follwoing the covid lockdown meaning I could get clients through the door straight away.

 

Gabrio was our super helpful project manager who patiently translated my sketches (on my princess papaer) into working drawinfs that I could approve and made sure the install team built the garden room on time for me to open. The build team worked from 8am to 9pm and had the room pretty much finished in the day. The came back the next morning to finish off a couple of bits.
